We need your input–Monthly Meeting Attendance
10 01 2007We need your honest feedback as it relates to our monthly meetings. Attendance for our monthly meetings has dropped dramatically and the board has a few guesses as to why, but they are just that, guesses. Last night we hired Mr. He to teach calligraphy and papercutting and only had a few people attend (4 adults participated). In fact within the past year, we have had very little attendance outside of the larger events (Chinese New Year, etc.)
Please let us know your thoughts and if you’re willing to share, why you and your family have not been attending. This will help us decide which direction we need to take as an organization. Email addresses for board members can be found here
Thanks in advance,
Your Board of Directors

It is strictly location. We are not driving from Byron Center to Rockford on a week night that also happens to be a school night.
We haven’t been able to attend because of other commitments on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Our schedule is pretty busy, and it just hasn’t worked out for us to attend in quite some time.
Thanks!

I love the idea of “pay as you go.” As the parent of an older girl (almost 12) the meetings were enjoyable, but we no longer “fit” into most of the issues. I did attend Jerry Jenista MD’s presentation, but even she was primarily focusing on what to expect with a baby. After probing, we got some surprising answers to some of our daughter’s health issues.
In addition, some of the language used now regarding the adoption process isn’t even familiar to me! There is all sorts of chatter around you as to what is going on with their process, but I can’t relate to it. Still, I enjoyed hearing the excitement in peoples’ voices as they wait.
We didn’t renew last year due to money matters and more involvement in school/community events. Had I known about the calligraphy artist, we definitely would have been there. Our daughter is very artistic and would have loved it.
Thanks for your innovation in the face of change.
We have not been coming for over a year (or more) mainly because of the time and distance. With our daughter being in school now, she needs her sleep in order to function the next day.
Also, the drive to Rockford can be a little daunting at times. I wish we could find a more “central” location - or is that considered “central”? I would love to be more involved in the future but right now it just isn’t working for us.
